As you all have probably guessed, I haven't had any violations on any highway since I was 24 yrs of age.
No, I just wondered about a situation involving the death of a police chief. If one dies is it normal that they have a patrol car outside the deceased's house? Is this something new?

No, they change. They come in around 7am, make the shift and another comes in at 7pm. Now, they might change more than that during the day, but these are the times I notice the switch over.
You think they all are boinkin' the Chief's wife? I've seen her and uh....well, I guess the whole squad could be, but I find that a little odd. But, I guess even that can happen.

No Nick. There are no cars out front or around the house. And we live in another county. These police cars are from the city over the river that is 5 miles away. And we don't have crime. Heck we are almost in the country.
I've just never seen that before and I've seen and known some officers/sheriffs in my life. I understand the respect for an officer and have been to some of their funerals, but I've never known one to camp out and change hands with another before. I was just curious if there was more to it than just a police chief's death.
They park across the road in the ditch, it's not even on the owner's side.

It would make headline news and I don't think this is the way.
The sad thing is when my girlfriend and I walked by the house months ago we figured or even heard that the chief had left his wife. They had this lovely lawn and landscape. It was the envy of any Home and Garden reader. Well, they spent a good penny on the house, pool, paved drive and the landscape. So, when we "heard" that he had left his wife, the yard went to s***. Now there are dog fennels, grass, and weeds growing from the flowerbeds. The lawn was mowed, but that was it. I remember saying, "Man, all that money into trees, shubbrey, plants........and they let it grow up! I wouldn't of put that much time and money into something I couldn't maintain." Then I find out the Chief dies and I'm sure she had to take care of him. He had cancer, so I "hear".
Now we see cops, sometimes unmarked cars, parked across the road from that once beautiful home that looks abbandoned. Maybe they are just keeping an eye on the place and the widow isn't even there. Guys, there aren't any teenagers around in our neighborhood. I never seen any out and about or even driving up and down the roads. Honestly, no one messes with anyone around here.
Maybe this is a new thing now. Wonder if it's practiced anywhere else.........

Well, I'm not alone in hallucinating. It's the talk of the whole damn hood.
It's definitely screwed up around here. But, then we have S.Florida yankees, yankees, one black man behind and over the hill from us married to a white woman, and that just about drives the Boss insane! Some young couples, some senior retirees, a spooky old man that just seem weird, and horses on a 2 ac. lots! I mean the horses might get to roam on half an acre!!! Yeah, it's screwed up!!!

That's it! That's why the cops are on patrol. To pretect her from her wacky neighbors.
BTW, no one really bothers anyone around here. I don't even know their names. Our names contain the neighbor the left of us, to the right of us, and 3 houses across the road. That's our whole existance to our block parties.

Well, the patrol squad is gone. I guess the funeral was yesterday. Didn't see a car this morning or one this afternoon.
