I always draw a blank and just get capt morgans and coke, but im getting sick of that, and also sick of screwdrivers. What are some good drinks I can make that are good tasting but not too heavy or gonna make me feel all bloated? I am now drinking coke and 99 blackberries and it's really good. Any other suggestions?
Clearly this seems like a better home for this thread
Anyway, my three mixed drink standards for pre-gaming have always been, in no particular order, gin/tonic, vodka/tonic, and whisk(e)y/cola. Very uncomplicated, but then again, that's really the whole point of pre-gaming in the first place, is it not?
me and my friend would always do cheap vodka + OJ. oj masks it well, but we would make the mixed drinks as potent as we could, so they were almost not bearable. after 2 or 3, we'd be on our way to getting drunk.
i no longer like screwdrvers, and i don't like OJ nearly as much as i used to now.
Second the gin/vodka tonics. Light, easy, effective. Another I can see working well, though I don't pre-game as such these days, is something I've been having at a local establishment that only serves tea infused mixed drinks - it's a sort of green tea martini, and is really a great way to start the night because it has a lot of kick, and doesn't impart a liquor breath - green tea is really light on the palette and stops the development of a lot of bad-breath bacteria.
Anyway, you get some green tea from your local whatever, I like Salada or Numi but it's all preference, and you make up a big jug of it and stick it in the refrigerator. Iced green tea. When that's all good and cold, pull it out and mix it in one parts to two parts of a flavored vodka - lemon or vanilla both work well. One recipe I've encountered also suggests an orange liqueur at 1/2 parts. Shake, stir, or whatever the hell you prefer well, serve, repeat.
