C.untenti di canuscirivi!
My name is Calogero, but that's a mouthful and most people just call me Cal. Stumbled on to this forum while looking for a decent, well populated forum related to that most wonderful of drugs, and after a few months of occaisional viewing, decided to join up; I've got a bit of free time this morning, so I thought I'd actually get everything in line and post something now.
Just a little bit about me, I'm a fairly young guy (just three years out of university), but a little bit of an "old soul", I grew up in the Hells Kitchen part of NYC in a very sicilian family, but I mostly hung out with the irish types, and I almost consider myself more of a "mick" than a "mafioso", as it were *. I work in a family business which aides corporations from all over the world in security areas - kidnapping policy, prevention, and crisis negotiation. Alot of this work I do in Sicily, Ireland, and Italia, but when I'm not on the job I make my home either in NYC or Portland, OR. The only political concerns I really hold close to hand are independant thought, smokers rights (I'm an ardent cigar-and-pipe sort), and I consider myself a "Radical Athiest", which merely prevents people from asking me "but are you sure you're not agnostic?".
Despite the crowd I ran with, I didn't get in to alcoholic pursuits beyond guinness (which I practically substituted for breast milk growing up, as evidenced by the display name) until VERY recently, I've started vinting some of my own wines in the sicilian fashion, and as I am interested in getting into the cigar importing business, I have developed a growing affection for scotches as well.
Anyway, I'm rambling. Hope to have fun here, saluti!
*I will admit that when the sopranos got hyperpopular in '01 or '02, I started wearing a diamond pinky ring. Might as well tow the racial-stereotype line.

Welcome to the site, man. Check out the Smoking Section and post some reviews on some cigars that you enjoy if you don't mind. I'm a relative newbie to cigars and any advice, suggestions would be appreciated.

Distinguished, Merp? Salve l'infermiera, what a pleasant mistake on your behalf! I assure you, I am nothing of the sort.
Thanks for all the quick replies, not quite sure where to start, but I'm 'lovin the welcome. Shorty, good to have the admin think I'm interesting... I'm a big fan of your state, it's FULL of interesting people; I'm fond of Louisiana also because my favorite pipe tobacco comes from thereabouts (perique). IceMn, I've enjoyed your posts, and any friend of poker is a friend of mine. Seducing cops out of arrests, also fairly impressive . Anthony, thanks for the welcome, I'd be glad to plug out a couple of recommendations for the smoking section!
Sincere, not a whole lot to tell on that end. It's not as interesting as it might sound, but it does have it's moments. What aspects are you interested in?

Was just wondering, I'm a little bit of a handcuff guy myself (always wanted to be a copper) but that's as far as I go. I'm professionally interested, you could say, in those who are so skilled with ropes however ;D. Never got to do the boy scout thing myself, it must be latent knot-apptitude jealousy.
Aaaaaanyway, Saluti and Slainte both to you, and to Michelob.

Witchblade, that is a glorious picture, but I don't see the cuffs... Oh, there there are. You have to focus *very* hard.

 I'm honored.
I love Mick Payton's work, he's great with the body, especially the female. And yes, ya gotta love those cuffs.

I'd love to have a "femme-derriere" theme on the walls of my digs, but even in a modern contemporary business climate, some of my more erm... old fashioned coworkers (like my father ) might look askance at such a thing...
