Default WOOT Got a Mr. Beer kit for Christmas.

I'll soon be brewing. I'll start with the one they included, but for my second batch I'll attempt to make a Belgian Ale, about 6% or so, with a cirtusy aroma and taste to it.

Congratulations! Listen, the kit may seem cheap and something a kid would use but you can make some great beer with it. Practice and practice with that kit and when you want to move on to bigger batches get you a bigger kit. Make sure to sanitize it properly and don't scrub the inside of it with a brush. Since it's plastic if you scratch it up bacteria can get into the scratches and it increases your chances of making a bad batch. I keep thinking of stuff to tell you but the booklet it comes with is very informative. There is also a great book I can suggest and if you want a link to it I will provide that. If you have questions post them up and we will do our best to help. Have fun!

Yeah, that book has some good info. I've read through it a couple times sitting on the can. I hope to start my first batch in the next week or so.

We need more brewers on here.

for Christmas I got a turkey fryer and a 6.5 gal glass carboy. So I have a secondary now. Should make brewing much easier for me.

It will definitely take alot of the crap out of your beer. I haven't made a batch in a while. I need to go get me one.

I'm sure they would. I had some pretty healthy plants till the drought got em. Had a minimal harvest, but enough for some beer, but the damn animals knocked them over while drying and the birds made off with them all.

I brewed one batch with the Mr. Beer then stepped up and bought a kit that came with a 5 gal glass carboy, bottling bucket, etc. I like it alot better. I've been meaning to sell my mr. beer kit but havent gotten around to it yet.

I too got this, and will be brewing my first batch in a week or two, pretty excited to see how it comes out.

I was NOT happy at all. This year we will build a more elaborate setup though, one where we can raise and lower the hop vines.
