Default Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar

This beer pours an almost opaque brown, with a hint of redness. It produces about 2 fingers worth of light brown head that disapates fairly quickly with moderate lacing. The smell is a bit smokey with hints of roasted coffee and nuts. Mouth feel is very silky and smooth. The taste is roasted malts, coffee and nuts, less sweet than other Brown Nut Ales I've enjoyed. Overall it's a solid 4. I think Samuel Smith's nut brown and even Young's nut brown are better values, but this is definatly a well made beer.

The finish is a bit hoppy and bitter, but not overpowering. As it warms up, the taste of molasses is starting to come out and it gets sweeter.

Ironic this thread should pop up today - I was just on Beer Advocate trying to generate a list of beers I want to try when I go to my newly discovered heaven (see I think I just found heaven...) and this one caught my attention.

Sounds delicious. I really enjoyed Samuel Smith's nut brown, hell.. any nut brown ale really. I'll have to give this one a try.
