orange wedge, 1tsp sugar, 3 dashes Angostura Bitters, splash water, ice, cherry garnish. Old Fashioned.
or, ice.
I can't understand how people can enjoy coke and whiskey. I think it tastes horrible. Ginger Ale is worse, though.
Whiskey works alright to top off a GandT. Not to say it's great, but it will dispose of cheap liquor.

every now and then I'll have jack and root beer or a crown and seven, but typically just ice and a dash of water if it's something strong like turkey
for a good whiskey tho, just ice

Good thread. I've only recently decided to get back into whiskeys, so I'll have to give some of these a shot.
As of late for me, it has been whiskey and coke, or segrams 7 and 7 up.

Nothing. Unless it's a horrible whiskey. Then I may need to "water it down" with some Coke.

Why drink whiskey when you need something to mask the taste?
There are 2 ways to drink whiskey and 3 ways to drink scotch whisky.
1. Straight
2. On the rocks
3. (Scotch only) Mixed with mineral water. Preferably Scottish mineral water from the spring the scotch came from. I've never done this before but it's supposed to unlock the aromas.
