WHAT! MIXING WHISKEY!

But seriously, in my books, mixing whiskey is sacrilegious. Unless it's for an Irish Car Bomb in which case it's fine to mix Jameson with Bailey's and Guinness.

Back in high school, Jack Daniel's was my favourite whiskey. It's cheap (in comparison to other whiskeys) and it gets you drunk fast which is pretty much what high school parties are about. However, now that I'm away from home in a city where I can legally drink, I started actually sipping drinks and tasting them. Though the bottle likes to claim it, Jack Daniel's isn't a sipping whiskey, it's for shooting. Flavour's too sweet compared to single malt scotch. After I discovered the beautiful world of scotch whisky, Macallan's all I can think about.

it depends on the barrel i guess... i have had a bottle of single barrel for 2 years now. i am ready to pour it out. I am a big jack drinker, straight no chaser for me! And I thought since I had always been drinking black label I would splurge and get a bottle of single barrel. My bottle was so s***y it wasnt even good to me. I tried to be a sport and drink it but it really wasnt good at all. i have since settled on a strict diet of Gentleman's Jack. Its fantastic straight, and equally great as a jack and coke.

Welcome to the site.

I'm actually more a fan of bourbon, rather than Tennessee whiskey in general. I like all the extra nuances of an unfiltered corn whiskey. However, if you have a taste for Tenn whiskeys, if you haven't tried George d***el No.12, give it a try, it's quite good

thanks for the welcome!

I havent tried George yet but I will look into that and let you know what I think! I consider myself a big fan of Jack but I wouldnt consider myself a connoisseur or anything... I am a fan of Jack, Jim, ect.. There is def. a flavor difference in a good bourbon and a good whiskey but they are similar enough in taste where it doesnt matter much to me..

Cool cool. Side note: I see you have your swear filter turned on, if you want to disable it, you can do so by going all the way to the bottom left corner.
