Default in Montreal, reporting my Beer findings.

I'm in montreal until tomorrow. and I found an open wifi connection so I made sure to stop off here to report my findings. so far I have bought about 12 different singles from different Canadian breweries which I will have to report on more when I return. But I will tell you I went here last night:

Brewery

And had some of the best beer I have ever encountered. I had there imperial coffee stout, it was literally the best stout I have ever tasted. 9.5% alcohol by volume. And tasted like I was drinking espresso. omg it was

I also found a bunch of Unibroue stuff I can't find in my neck of the woods so that was cool. But couldn't find the Unibroue snifter I was lusting after. perhaps another time... Later guys.

the US customs people had a ball with me today... I brought back 12 singles of Canadian micro brews. Plus 5 cases of duty free 5% alcohol/volume Labatt Blue
(one for me the rest as gifts) I know Labatt blue is not exactly awesome beer but it was $14.99 a case..

I did research, and you are allowed to bring back one case of beer duty free. but you can bring back as much as you want you just have to pay tax on it (which is supposedly like $1.75 a case.)
So I was ready to just pay whatever because people told me they wanted beer. But when I got to the duty free place at the border they basically told me the border is pretty laid back when it comes to alcohol and I should be fine. and sure enough when I crossed they waved me right through!

Very nice! I haven't gotten caught sneaking back alcohol but when we went on our cruises the ship crew warned that they would take it and pour it out.

trying to sneek back more than the legally allowed amount? even that varies if its allied, non-allied, or protectorate status countries.
