Had it over the weekend. I could taste the alcohol pretty strongly but I liked it. it was the first of the anniversary beers of theirs I have had. I heard 16 was better, I think I can still find it around here is it worth picking up?

Trois Pistoles is my favorite Unibroue, I'll have to check it out.

Ok finally went to Hippie Mart (Whole Foods) and got a pair of the 17s to try - did anyone else notice a price inverse where the anniv beer was cheaper?

Last year - Maudite/LFDM/Trois $8/btl, U16 $10/btl
This year - Maudite/LFDM/Trois $11/btl (dahur), U17 $9/btl

At least Chimay's are still running $8/btl - geez

Cracked open the 17 last night - I found it was better then the 16. Both are 10% ABV, dark color, similar to Trois Pistoles... the 16 just seemed a little more bitter and the alcohol "bite" overpowered the flavors. The 17 masks the bite a little better and the flavors, wow, a mouth explosion (/Borat).

Very good, have to go pick up a few more bottles for long term storage

I finally had a 16 among many other amazing beers I picked up last weekend.

16 was awesome but it's a different beer then the 17 so it's silly to compare the two.
