Lucid - Absinth... who's tried it?

Anyone tried this stuff yet? I've been curious due to the "side effects" history I've always read about, but at $59.99 a bottle it hasn't peaked my interests that much.

I'm told there's a strong licorice taste to it, which I don't care for in liquor but if it can produce some funky side effects I might be able to get past that.

For those that have tried it, did you try it the traditional way with the sugar cube? We've got some gift sets coming in for the holidays that have the special spoon attached it and was considering picking it up due to being able to properly drink it.

I just opened my bottle last night. No side effects other than what can be attributed to 124 proof alcohol.

Don't buy it if you think you want to go crazy. Buy it if you want to experience a newly legalized alcohol.

You can properly drink it out of a juice glass, no problem. I mixed up a glass of ice water with a bit of sugar, then poured it over absinthe.

I found the anise flavor to be pleasent, not too sweet.

Thanks Hersh, I'll probably pick up a bottle at some point this holiday season. I like to have a well rounded liquor collection and I'm sure at some point, this one could be pulled out.
