Default Recommend me some beers...

Ok, so I don't drink a whole lot of beers, but I know what I like and I stick to them. With that in mind, who has enough beer knowledge to refer me to some new brews to broaden my horizons?

Beers I love are:

Sam Adam's Cream Stout
Sam Adam's Black Lager
Sam Adam's
Rolling Rock
High Life (gotta stay true to the old skool)
Guinness
Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout
Sam Smith Nut Brown Ale
Newcastle

Rolling Rock is about the lightest beer I like. Any suggestions?

You would love Left Hand Milk Stout. It's like a sweet Guinness.

Do you like IPAs? If so, I highly, HIGHLY recommend Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA. It's one of my favorite beers.

Never tried an IPA, have no clue what the flavor is like but we have this brew at the store and with discount I can get a sixer for $5. I'll bring one home tomorrow.

Only cause it's got the Anthony stamp of approval.

My brothers name is Anthony, so any Anthony's words must be golden.

Edit: And yes, I've had Left Hand Milk Stout but I prefer Sam Adam's Cream Stout over it. Especially with the price difference.

Left Hand Milk Stout with discount: $7 a sixer
Sam Adam's Cream Stout with discount: $4 a sixer

Win win situation for me.

IPAs are really hoppy. Chances are you'll either love it or hate it.

Definitely pick up the Left Hand, though. Based on the beers you mentioned, I'd bet money that you'll love it.

Have you tried any Belgiums?

Chimay, Orval, Duvel, Westmalle, Rochefort...etc.

If you do like the IPA's.....DFH is definitely a great brewery.....along with Stone. Stone also has a few other styles (stouts, porters) that are very good.

Avery has some pretty good stuff

I've had Duvel, good stuff. Haven't tried any of the Chimay's, the yeast gathered at the bottom always turned me off from these. Although everyone I've ever known to drink the stuff loves it, so I suppose I can give that stuff a shot too.

They make a couple dark beers that I love. The Mephistopheles Stout, and The Beast. Both are dark, and delicious as hell Also high in abv, and aren't cheap.

Just FYI I wouldn't drink very many belgiums (or any beer that you can see the yeast settled on the bottom) from the bottle. Pour the beer slowly into a glass....and never pour the yeast into the glass.

Honestly.....I very rarely drink any beer from the bottle. I like to smell the beer as I drink it....and that is kind of difficult if its in the bottle

I need to try more of their stouts. I've a few of their Belgium style (which I didn't really care for) and their anniversary ale.....which was OK at best
