Default OMG! Yuengling in Georgia!?!

Well its official....

Georgia finally got some sort of licensing to begin selling this stuff.

Should I be excited? Yes.

Am I excited? Nope.

Halfway decent beer but I don't know what the commotions all about. I tried it in North Carolina and the customers here inquire daily about it.

Well, time to go clear some shelf space to put this product in. Apparently, they don't want it to be next to the Budweiser (although Anheuser-Busch distributes it) because it may tarnish its image of being a special, yet domestic beer. Looks like I have to redo 4 cooler doors just to make room.

Thanks for listening to my rant.

I feel your pain on redoing shelves and coolers for new products... although that's pretty funny that for you it's distributed by Bud, here it comes from the Miller company.

It reminds me of that typical fratboy cheap beer.

Much like Pabst Blue Ribbon and Natty Ice/Light.

Sorry, but it's just funny for me that Yuengling is considered a special beer. Obviously, it's a standard around here. Come to think of it, I can't remember ever being to a place that served beer that didn't have it.

Yeah I chuckled when the Budweiser guy told me that. I went to high school in North Carolina and it was commonplace there.

They didn't want their awesome beer touching the Budweiser because we all know how much better Yuengling is to Budweiser....

It's still nowhere near New Orleans, but whenever I go to TN I always buy 2 cases of Y, one to consume and one to bring home. It's "ok" but like all domestic pisswaters has to be drunk at 32.0000005 degrees in a frosted mug to be palatable

That's kinda weird that you are just getting it there. Being as they are supposedly America's oldest brewery.

Because it's a beer I can't get here, it tastes good, I can't find the fru-fru s*** without driving to Hippie Mart (Whole Foods) in Knoxville an hour away, and they have those f**gotry ABC outlets for hard alcohol in TN, instead of selling everything at WalMart, so I make do with it

Besides, the trip 6 weeks ago was hurricane evac, the last thing on my mind was bringing alcohol with me, heh

Yeah i think it was a licensing battle concerning who would get the job done distributing it well.

Yuengling was in North Carolina for as long as I could remember. All neighboring states to Georgia has it....

I had it when I was in the Poconos. Nothing special.

(There are really, really weird alcohol laws in that area. IIRC, we had to go to a bar to buy a beer of any kind, and there were limitations on how much we could buy. Thankfully there were 5 of us, and we got enough for the week, but it would take a week to buy enough for a large BBQ if you went solo.)

Yea, PA alcohol laws are whack. I'm not sure if it's a law or just a common policy, but some places won't let you walk out of the store with more than two six packs in hand. It really sucked if you are buying s*** for underagers. Or at least that's what I heard.

Where at in the Poconos were you? I've been going up there my whole life. My parents have a few houses there and it's where my dad has his businesses.

Pocono Manor? I think? Maybe? 2004? Hell, I don't even remember what year it was. It was a week at a resort. Lots of booze. Lots of fun.
