BeersDiscuss, Blue Moon at Alcohol Reviews forum; i finally had my first decent beer in a long time, over the holidays (courtesy of my dad buying), and ...
I love wheat beer, and Belgian beer a a rule. But Blue moon has never done much for me. I'm not sure if I just got skunked beer or what. But I'm done with trying it unless some one gives me one that they know isn't skunked.
I'll suggest Hoegaarden White for those that enjoy Blue Moon. Its one of the top rated Belgian White Ales.
I've had a few Blue Moon's with an orange slice, and found the fruit overpowered the beer and all I was tasting was a sweet slice of orange. I'd suggest trying it with, without, and without squeezing it into the beer. A simple wipe around the rim of the glass should suffice to promote or hide any specific flavors.
Wheat beers are also very good with s***y food/wings. They help take the bite off of the food, but do not linger long enough to mask the full flavorings of the meal. Kind of like a pale ale and BBQ, or even a porter and a steak. Some might argue the porter would mask a little of the steak, but I haven't found that to be true to date.
Very true... Mexican beers are really enhanced (usually) with a lime. I usually like the man laws, but in that case, it's stupid.
I've almost wrote off all contact with "Mexican" beers. Its either the beer or the lime, or a combination of both, but I get one hell of a hangover after any Dos Equis XX Special Lager or Corona.
Now the Dos Equis XX Amber is a nice amber beer, that doesn't require any additives and is easy to drink, and pretty nice.

on the Hoegaarden. If you enjoy blue moon definitely give it a try. I enjoy it much more than blue moon. Also, if you didn't like blue moon from a bottle, try it from a tap before you completely give up on it.
If you are ever in Golden, CO go to the brewery. You can taste several of their brews for free in the bar after the tour. Blue Moon was one of the ones they had on tap for us.
On a side note, they have beer taps in the breakrooms.

I've had it on tap, never from a bottle. Of course I hope you're not drinking straight from the bottle... That will obviously kill a lot of the tastes and aromas. The 'get drunk' beers I will drink from a can or bottle of course...

Yuck, I cannot develop a taste for that Hoegaarden White s***. I tried drinking a whole six pack every which way to try and find a suitable serving method. It was vile to me in every way.
