Default Root 100

Root 100 - Phillips brand 100 proof Root Beer Schnapps.

It's the best liqueur I've ever had. If you can find it definitely give it a shot.

Also, I have a question in general about hard liquor. I've noticed that after a few days of purchasing a hard liquor (Root 100, Jim Beam, etc), these hard crystals form in the bottom of the bottle. They resemble rock candy but with the coloring of the liquor in the middle of them.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal and what makes this happen? Thanks.

That sounds very interesting. Where are you from? I haven't seen that in the stores around here.

I'm not sure about the crystals. I've never noticed it.

I'm from Michigan. I originally spotted it in the Kalamazoo area, but later convinced a local liquor shop to order some closer to where I live (Flint area).

There's a few places you can order it online too.

I saw this at my local liquor store and I didn't know what to think. I bought Hot 100 which is cinnamon flavored and that is really good; tastes like liquid-Big Red. You can mix it with apple vodka or apple schnapps to make a Fiery Apple or shoot it straight. Let me know what you think, it's really good. I'll try the Root 100 today. Thanks!

Hmm, haven't seen that around here, but it seems tasty. That is quite a kick though. The majority of liqueurs don't get to the 50% level.

Nice find! I'm going to have to check into that.

Another look at the Phillips distilling website reveals that there are apparently two more liqueurs in their '100 proof' line - Blue and Black 100 (peppermint and wintergreen). Worth a shot me thinks! (no pun intended) :-P

CzarMatt I live in Kalamazoo, MI, and im looking for Black 100 which is made by the same company ( Phillips Distilling Comany - Phillips Distilling Company). I was wondering where at in Kalamazoo (or Grand Rapids) you were able to find Root 100. Or if there was a place I could order it online.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
