Hmm, this is kind of an interesting selection. I picked this up for $16.99 for a fifth. First try was on the rocks, then I mixed it with sprite, and then with tonic.
My impression was that this isn't quite up to the level of gins like Tanqueray, Bombay, and Beefeaters. And certainly not with the likes of Plymouth, Hendricks, Tanqueray 10, and Bluecoat. At only 80 proof, it is also much more tame than most of it's cousins. This really isn't something to be enjoyed by itself (or in a martini imo), the taste of the botanicals is somewhat subdued, but still there. However, the lesser abv makes the stuff smoother, and easier to handle. And the taste seems to have more citrus to it than juniper. Would be a good bet to use this to introduce someone to the taste of gin.
I would say this stuff makes for a damn decent mixer. And the price is pretty fantastic, as I said I paid $16.99, but the 1.75 liter bottle was a paltry $22.00. So they clearly give you a fairly significant break in the price for buying the bigger bottle. So overall, I would say this is a pretty competent spirit, totally would buy it again
