Default Georgia Moon Corn Liquor Redux

My original review was based on the original Georgia Moon. Now it seems, they have put out spin-off varieties, such as lemonade and peach. Here is the original: Georgia Moon Corn Liquor review

I selected the lemonade. First, let me say, instead of eighty proof, this variety is seventy proof. Making it a bit more like a liqueur, but the taste is still clean. It's somewhat interesting, as the corn scent is still present, but not overwhelming like the original. There is also a distinct citrus smell. FAR more palatable than it's older brother, but I suppose it takes away from the hairy chested, shock value. Doesn't really require mixing, though I did mix it with Sprite just to see how it would taste, and Sprite really does make for a good mixer with this stuff.

All in all, an enjoyable drink. Cost me twelve something for a fifth, though the liquor store I was in was a bit overpriced, so it would probably cost around ten like I paid for it's older brother. For that price, I would definitely buy again......one major annoyance though, despite the cool fact that it comes in a mason jar, it also makes it nigh impossible to pour without spilling it all over the place

Has anyone ever tried to market straight corn whiskey?

It should be 130-140 proof if they used a good sour mash recipe.

Default Corn Whiskey

I have been using a recipe that is 7 pounds of corn and 7 pounds of sugar.
5gallons water, 1 packet turbo yeast (Corn and Yeast you can get from Mile Hi Distilling) The stuff comes out about 120 proof and after you get to the 4th run on the the mash it's pretty smooth. Each time you make a run I do about a 25% cut then pour the fients back in the mash and add sugar. It does however have a heavy corn (ethanol) smell which we spoke about on another thread.
Folks that have tried it have liked it.
