Had a Couple Amazing Beers This Weekend
OK, one over the weekend and one tonight.
Dogfish Head Theobrama and Lagunitas Lil Sumpin. Lil Sumpin is an American Pale Wheat Ale. It must have been hopped with a mostly fruity/floral hop instead of an all out bitter hop because it was almost like drinking flowers. Ugh, I f***ing loved it. Tonight I had the Theobrama and below is a little exherpt about it:
This beer is based on chemical analysis of pottery fragments found in Honduras which revealed the earliest known alcoholic chocolate drink used by early civilizations to toast special occasions. The discovery of this beverage pushed back the earliest use of cocoa for human consumption more than 500 years to 1200 BC. As per the analysis, Dogfish Head’s Theobroma (translated into 'food of the gods') is brewed with Aztec cocoa powder and cocoa nibs (from our friends at Askinosie Chocolate), honey, chilies, and annatto (fragrant tree seeds).
Another great great DFH beer. I have a bottle of Chateau Jiahu waiting on me next.

I saw DFH Theo in the liquor store the other night. I was so close to buying it, but I held off. Maybe later this week I will give it a try.

I read recently that DFH is working hard on supplying more of a selection to more states, especially California. Apparently you can find some in Pasadena. Is that anywhere near you?

Really?! The reason I wasn't a big fan is because I thought it tasted quite alcoholic.
