In all seriousness Berman, I wish you the best. There is nothing in this world like having a woman to be your partner, friend and lover. Requires a ton of give and take but it can be very rewarding. Now that my wife and I have gone through the years of early marriage really discovering each other, the whirlwind of raising kids, and are now empty-nesters, it's really interesting because it's lot like starting over again. Raising a family, you're frequently putting the kids first and yourselves second. You make time for each other when you can, not necessarily when you want to. I can tell you we have friends who, when their kids are gone will more than likely divorce because they have nothing in common anymore and do zippy alone together. I have no idea why I just wrote all this drivel.

i wasn't aware that my father was there, while i was getting my engineering degree, taking my tests for me, or likewise there during law school. or that he took both bar exams for me. last i checked, i did those on my own. btw, working for him actually hurt my career.

It's of course not at all possible for a college girl to get knocked by her boyfriend, try to do the "right thing" and get married, then have him turn into a complete a****** over time and run off. i would not be in my present financial situation without him, as i'd be saddled with loans. but, so what? i live cheaply and make plenty. i'd have no problems paying them off, although i likely would have bought a cheap car instead of the gt500.

her parents did not pick up the tab. she hasn't taken a cent from them since she was 18-19. i take it that you read nothing. she lived in a s***hole apartment and worked full time at a daycare center, eventually managing it, so she could have her son with her at work, and she attended classes at night. her mom did help out by watching her son for her sometimes, but when that wasn't available, she'd just bring him with her to class. once she graduated and became a teacher, she'd have him enrolled in the same school she taught at, so there was no need for someone to watch him after school.

she didn't go after child support because she doesn't want to rely on anyone else. i can't say that i agree with that decision, but i understand what's behind it.

f*** her way into the easy life? we split everything 50/50 with the exception of personal expenses (our cars, insurance, clothing, lunches while at work, etc). our house and bills are pretty cheap, and she has zero issues being able to pay her half.

So you have just shown what a dumb clam she is. The man did not ditch her if she was perfectly fine with him leaving and having no contact or financial support for her son. So now it puts more holes into her story.

Not really you have a choice. You keep the original dad involved who does not make much money, or you push him out and fish up a new guy who makes plenty.

I have seen a few women do this too in my career. We are also going off her side of the story which makes no sense that she would marry him, but then elt him disappear and get away without paying child support. It makes her out to be pretty stupid if her story is true.

I broke up with Berman
I didn't want to move and for our relationship to go forward.. one of would have had to move. He had the better job, why would I ask him to move?

We both now are better off and happier..... we are still great friends.. and talk a lot..

He was never a d*** to me.. and very nice to my daughter.

If you wanted to know SI why we broke up.. you could have just asked.
