Default proper temp to serve liquors?

most liquors seem to be better served chilled. how cold do yall serve it straight?

i normally keep it in the freezer.. but if i just bought it and it's warm, i don't hesitate to drink it.

cheap s*** liquors - ie, jim beam, jack, vodka, tequila etc etc, can be kept in a freezer

good scotch should never be kept cold, but in a dark room temp cabinet

if tasting a new bottle, serve neat with nothing added, if drinking for enjoyment, serve with 3 ice cubes and a splash of water

Yeah, it would definitely depend on the type of liquor. Brandy and scotch(like absolom suggested) would probably be best served straight up neat or on the rocks. My personal preference is to ALWAYS serve gin and vodka chilled. I also prefer to drink my bourbon chilled, but the good top-shelf brands taste good at room temp too. And I never store my liquor in the freezer/fridge, I just like the effect that a handfull of ice cubes has better. But, like most things, it comes down to personal preference, just experiment, that's always more fun anyway
