Default Sam Adams Cherry Wheat

Anyone drink this? I have seen it at the store a couple of time, but I just can't pull the trigger on buying it without a little background.

I actually like it. It's a bit sweet and really is cherry like but if you don't mind that you'll love it.

I got some in the Sam Adams Sampler Pack and I honestly couldn't drink it. It's one of the VERY VERY few beers that I have ever poured out.

*Edit* And I'm a huge fan of Purple Haze, so it's not the sweet/fruity thing that I don't like.

*Edit v.2* I was mistaken. It was the Sam Adams Cranberry Lambic that I got in the Sampler Pack and poured out. To my knowledge I have never had Cherry Wheat. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I liek it but the cherry flavor really comes through. My father in law said it is the worst beer he has ever tasted and poured it out after 2 sips.

I tried it once in NYC and it was draft. It tasted like cough medicine. I may have to give it a shot via bottle since most people seem to rave about it. I sent it back.

Ever since I moved to Dallas I had been looking for Cherry Wheat; I think it's a wonderful dinner beer, and I particularly like the sweet taste (I'm a big fan of the lambic ales). After living here for about two years, I realized the "nice" liquor store down the street from me stocks all the seasonal Sam Adam's brews, and have always had Cherry Wheat.

Just curious, what beer store you go to? I usually go to Central Market or Goody Goody.

It's either Pogo's in Highland Park or Sigel's in Dallas (on Greenville).

I didn't like bottled, but the draft was decent.

I do too...and I'm a bit surprised. I've never been a fan of Sam Adams, so I didn't think I'd like it. But I tried one tonight and I liked it pretty well. I may have to try a few other offerings from Sam Adams.

I do see what you mean about the 'cough medicine' taste. But that didn't ruin it for me.

If you're looking for a good selection, check out the Goody Goody on Upper Greenville near Ben's Halfyard House. They usually have a nice beer selection in stock.
