I have yet to find a red...
...that I can actually drink. They all taste like water on the finish and are usually too tannic on the top.
Any suggestions?

for a good red you gotta start on the expensive s***.
I had a bottle of joseph phelps insignia 01 and it was fantastic. I think it was also #1 wine of the year last year.
Also had an 02' caymus cabernet...both are 100+$ bottles but well worth it for the right occasion.

A very good, somewhat pricey red to try would be the Mitolo Shiraz, 2004. It is about $45-50 a bottle and drinkable for the next 10-15 years.
I can give you a list if you want, even though this thread is old.

I'd be interested in a list that is <$30 a bottle.
