Back with results.
I seemed to reach a semi equilibrium in this test. I believe it was due to loosing a little bit of water/whiskey on the initial card slip, holding the card to the glass with water is definitely a hard part, it must be stiff, if it has a curve, use that to your advantage.
You will notice, the shot glasses are not perfectly aligned at the start, that would be the problem from what i can tell, since the loss of fluid has hurt the process.
In the last picture I held up a white paper towel to show some contrast in the mix, and you can notice the top has indeed filled with more whiskey than water, as its hue is darker.
No more tests, this was the last jack i had, hell i had to mix a little (barf) crown royal special reserve with it to make one shotglass.

Plan on picking up soem Evan Williams or more JD this week and tryign again.
Maybe food coloring in rum to test? I have a s***-ton of bacardi rum that i cant stand to drink...
I have some gin too... hrmm
