Talking my dad into starting up again.
He use to brew his own and it was great. Grew his own hops for a while and kept it simple, no sugars or any of that kinda s***. Brewed everything in the traditional German style. He's on the verge now so hopefully he'll start again. Bummer is that he sold all his flip top bottles (we had tons we brought back from Europe) so we'll have to replentish the bottles. I'm thinking about growing hops at his house and at mine to see if there is any difference in taste like there is with grapes when grown in two seperate locations. So hopefully I'll be posting about our first batch soon.

 Keep us updated.
My first batch is on it's second week of conditioning now.

Not sure, he did all of his brewing while I was still living in MD. I had one of his beers, a German style beer, and it was awsome.
