Eagle Rare bourbon review

I was looking to try something different tonight, and I found it. It's called Eagle Rare, aged 10 years, and the cost was $24.99. It's 90 proof, and man you can tell. The flavor is pretty damn overpowering, I seriously had to add some water to really detect some of the more subtle hints. A real "oaky" flavor is pretty prominent here, and after the water there are hints of apple. You get every nickle's worth out of this stuff. Sorry about the s***ty pic, but the light in my room sucks.

It looks cooler in person, but it's whats inside the bottle that's the real attraction

Just a local liquor store. Do you have trouble finding top-shelf kind of stuff around you? Yeah, and it's definitely worth trying if you like the taste of bourbon.

I poured a glass of Eagle Rare last night and I am in complete agreement with Joey(except on the price

). It is definitely one of the stronger tasting bourbons in terms of flavor. This bourbon has a warm s***y taste and adding a splash of water really seems to wake it up even more bringing out hints of vanilla and citrus. The thing I found most intriguing about Eagle Rare is when I try and compare it to other bourbons I really can't find one that it compares to.

The taste is complex and overwhelming in a good way and would probably be appreciated more by a bourbon enthusiast than someone new to the world of bourbon.

Good call, I thought that as well, but it's nice to have a second opinion. I assume you had to pay more for it, what was the price where you live? Btw, thanks for posting a pic, the one I posted must have disappeared when we changed servers.

Last week it was $24.99, but this week it was $27 at multiple stores. I wonder if they raised the price where you live too.

No problem on the pic, I will always try and post one when I give a review unless there is one already posted. Thanks again for recommending it.

I havn't tried Eagle Rare yet...havn't ever seen it down here. I'll have to keep an eye out for it.
