Went looking for a new beer to try tonight...
...and I damn sure found it. It's called Mephistopheles Stout, by the Avery Brewing Company (whom I have never heard of before). Obviously a very dark pour, and the head was bigger than I expected. The biggest scents that I could detect were raisins and chocolate. The taste is bigtime chocolate, with a tad of a bitter after affect. This stuff is pretty damn sweet, and not a lot of coffee hints like other stouts (or at least I didn't sense any). The first thing I compared it to was DFH World Wide Stout. The two are definitely comparable, but different enough to try both. The abv is a little over 16%. Maybe Booger can try it and give it a proper review

OMFG that looks good I'm surprised you haven't heard of Avery I would probably rate them in my top 5 of brewers that I have ever had Definitely try everything they make!

Imperial stout. I'm scared of those honestly. The last one I had (Great Divide Oak Aged Yeti) looked like that, and has similar tastes, but the alcohol smell/taste was way too over powering.
I'd like to try that one at the least, but it is not available in my area (from what I can find). I will see what I can do about finding it though.
