Is it bad to exposure beer to radical temperature changes? For instance, suppose you purchase beer that was stored in a refrigerator but you then just leave it sit out at room temperature. Is it bad to then take that beer and put it back in the fridge? Does this affect the taste?
Cliffnotes: Gradual temperature changes to beer does not affect taste or shelf life of beer. However, drastic changes in temperature will. I wouldn't leave your beer in a black car in July here in TX for very long after buying it at a store that had it in a fridge.
True or False: temperature changes “skunk” beer. If you think you know the answer to this question then you may want to bite your tongue. It seems as though the majority of beer drinkers are convinced warming beer up after it’s been chilled is the worst thing you can do. The reality is that beer is more sensitive to light and motion than it is temperature.
There are instances where sudden and extreme temperature changes will harm the chemistry of beer and distort its flavor, but you’d have to do something drastic like take a beer from a freezer and then immediately put it in the microwave. If you allow beer to warm up and cool down over time then there should be no flavor distortion.
However, I wouldn’t recommend buying cold beer and then leaving it in say the trunk of your car for an extended period of time during the Summer months. The ride home will definitely not hurt your precious beer, but I probably wouldn’t risk taking beer from 35° F to 100° F especially if that happens more than once.

But, but but... my beer got skunked after it warmed up in a cooler! Not once did it come in contact with light from the time it was brewed to the time I drank it.
