Vodka
I'm not a drinker at all. In fact, I don't drink. Yesterday though, I decided to go buy some Grey Goose based on everyone's high rated opinion on them.
It's always how "smooth" it is, so how is that defined. I found nothing smooth about it in comparison to some other stuff I tried.

I've never had Grey Goose, but most decent vodka is pretty tasteless IMO.

We had some cheap smirnoff vodka as well. I couldn't tell a different.
I tried some whiskey and rum, those I noticed a big difference, but the side by side comparison of the vodkas, I did not.

it all tastes the same when you are trashed
I think the higher priced vodkas are smoother when mixed, easier to drink not a harsh taste etc.

I was never trashed.
I mixed it with grape-cranberry juice after trying it straight. With cranberry juice, I couldn't even taste it. Is that's what's so great about it?

to me thats the big thing I noticed, try mixing with a cheap vodka and you can definitely taste a harsh taste/aftertaste to it, im not sure about everyone else that sips vodka or whatever, the stuff is pretty nasty plain IMO.

FWIW, Smirnoff is the best of the bottom shelf vodkas. It's actually not bad at all. I think I can taste a difference between GG and Smirnoff, but I wouldn't put money on it in a blind taste test.

No, that's what sucks about vodka. It has no taste.
Try a straight up gin martini.

Yeah, to me that is simultaneously it's greatest strength and weakness. It
suuuucks straight up, but it mixes with almost anything. Speaking of which, I haven't made me a good GG bloody mary in awhile

As you begin to develop a taste for vodka, you will probably notice a difference.
