What i dont get is why cant GM make their super car with a nicer interior. I dont care if they copy someone elses. Yeah they will be known as a copy cat but at least we will have something to show for a $50k-80k vette

All I know is that the materials used for their interiors are superior. I'd buy a Range Rover even though they break once a week. I'd rather ride something stylish than something reliable.

I'd rather blow your sorry ass away in a lowly F body than drive some "prestigious" POS snobmobile.

I have some breaking news here folks, performance isn't everything. For however that is talking about performance why aren't you driving around in a modded fox body? Thats cheap performance.

So you would rather "blow his ass away in an f - body" then be the guy owning the Mclaren F1 for example?

To a car guy, performance may not be everything, but it means a LOT. A Z06 isn't compromising on much if anything beyond "prestige" whatever the F that is.

Exactly...and I am a "car guy". The 997 Turbo has 485 HP in a Porsche AWD package; if that's not awesome, I don't know what is. Combined with the engineering, build quality, prestige, styling, and interior ergonomics and materials...
It's just better.

So if performance is a lot why aren't you driving a modded fox body? You can run 11's for the price of your GTO.

People that say otherwise have never compared the Corvette to cars in the same price range in an effort to see how to best spend about $55,000.

Thats because the viper is marketed as your every day car. When it first came out they wanted to give you a bares bones race car. Now they have added a few more features which I don't care for (except abs).

I've driven plenty. Quite a few of my friends and associates own them. While I love Porsche, it's idolized in the legal community. I'm especially fond of 993s and the new 997s.
So, yes - I know what they ride like, how they drive, how they feel, and what the interiors are like. The 996 Porsche line had a superior interior to the C6/Z06 in terms of leather quality, gauge layout, dash feel, and plastics/materials.

How many here ever tried to put a fast food cup (or any) in the cup holder of a C5 and actually drive anywhere?

The Viper has a miserable interior, but the exclusiveness, raw power, and bold exterior styling (not to mention the exclusivity of the vehicle due to price) are the reasons it's more desirable.

I'll give you that, C5 cupholders were useless. I don't really judge a performance car by it's cupholders though.

You honestly think that interior is somehow superior?

Clearly; you own a GTO.
I have one car - a beater. My 2002 Sebring.

Yes. It retains the classic Porsche gauge layout (five across). If you sit in one, you'd notice the leather is superior to that of any Chevrolet car. If you actually try to say otherwise, I know you're just lying to me in order to play Devil's Advocate.
The dash materials don't feel cheap, and the knobs and buttons don't feel like hollow, cheap plastic. In fact, there's less exposed plastic and everything seems to fit better - the doors don't feel flimsy.

I'll remember that the next time you attempt to write something.
