Default Dalmore Cigar Malt

Went to the store the other day to try The Dalmore 12yr and the manager talked me into buying the Cigar Malt instead (he knows me as a bourbon drinker). The Cigar Malt has an overpowering taste of bitter chocolate and smoke with a fairly dry finish. Even after a couple of beers the taste was still there to be enjoyed. This was obviously made to be sipped while smoking a good cigar and I am sure the two compliment each other, but by itself it may be a little much.

The Dalmore Cigar Malt
Rich copper color. Sweet chocolate, burnt caramel, s***e, and oily nut aromas. A rich, round entry leads to a full-bodied palate with buttery toffee, brown s***es, roasted nuts, and nice dash of pepper. Finishes somewhat dryly with a dark caramel, chocolate and heather fade. Very rich and tasty.

I have yet to find a scotch I really like, but I am determined to find one.

Believe me, if I had the cash flow, I would be out there trying all types of s***. But alas, I don't have funds to be just flushing away like that, especially with the price of good scotch.

Well I decided to give this bottle another try last night, but this time I added about three small cubes of ice and it was actually pretty good. The finish wasn't nearly as dry as before and the taste was quite a bit softer and more enjoyable. I still prefer bourbon, but I think I am starting to like this scotch.

Get some Glenmorangie Sherry Wood finish. Very smooth.
