Cool Making my first official foray into single malt scotch land tonight

Praise be to the Class Six store at Dover Air Force Base. They seem to sell most things like $5 or more cheaper than most places. They especially seemed to give a good deal on the scotch, so I decided to pick up something. I chose a bottle of Tullibardine Single Highland Malt, specifically because I haven't seen anyone make mention of it on here. I've had Macallan 12 one time, but I was so trashed I don't remember what it tasted or smelled like. Anyhoo, on with the show. The first thing I noticed was how fragrant the stuff was. Besides the obvious oak smell, there are definite hints of caramel and a nice hazel nut aroma. This continues into the taste. Clearly since this is my first real single malt experience, I have nothing to compare it to besides other whisk(e)ys. I definitely noticed a quite pungent, earthy taste near the end(which is more than likely the peat they use to make the stuff). This beverage will take some getting used to, especially being as I am a total bourbonite(as I call it).

Giving single malt scotch a try is great, but at the same time think about the new bourbon you missed out on tonight.

Believe me, if I had seen some Pappy there, I would have bought that.

Pappy is getting harder and harder to find, especially when a******s like me are buying up every bottle they can find. If you're ever interested in locating a bottle let me know.

If you find the bite to harsh, try a shot of water in it. You'll be surprised at the effect it has.
