I don't really buy domains unless I intend to use them for one of my projects... I don't want to get into the domain selling business. Not to mention that there's no real way I could realistically do a Challenger site, simply because I'm not really into modern Mopars.

Anyone else getting database errors when they're on this site and click a link to an LS2.com thread? Can they block you when AR is the referrer? Seems like a stupid thing to do.

You probably have the "broken board" hack on your account. Log out and see if it does the same thing.

I can surf LS2 fine when I go directly there. It's just when I click a link from here that I get the database error.

Why would they do that? They know it's more of an off topic site.

I was the one that first suggested creating it... although I see they've now gone to CafePress for their shirts. If anyone realized what s*** quality those shirts are, they'd never buy one. You'd be lucky if it will survive two or three washes.

Ive got a Fbody shirt from there. I bought 2 shirts in one...first and last.

The shirt is funny, but I know you were big on the automotive content of the site and that shirt definately doesn't promote auto content!

Cafe Press ROCKS. It's the best source of overpriced crap this side of a local flea market!!! And it's a .com thing instead, that makes it SOOOO much cooler.

Actually, you could get the store pulled from Cafe Press pretty easily. CP is touchy about potential copyright infringement issues. I'm honestly surprised they even allowed it in the first place.

Overpriced CHEAP crap. That stuff is such s*** it's not even funny. I ordered s*** from them as a test before I put them online, and that was the whole reason I bailed on that idea. The quality was just NOT there.

They have a polo for $24.99, I was selling polos that were 3 times the quality for $22.

The funniest part, though, is that I sent them 2 moving boxes clear full of hats, stickers, and polo shirts... f***ers b****ed and moaned about not having them... and then they don't even offer them to members!

How much of the store is non-offending items? I have no interest in looking, figured they were just using this as their entire lineup.

Most of it is just the plain old LS2.COM logo on cheap as white shirts and stuff. Pretty uncreative considering that they could do just about anything.

Their issue is that they have too much load for their database. Their database is freakin humungous, and with as many searches as are being performed on it, it brings their server to it's knees. This is something that is going to make it tough for LS1TECH to get much larger, and why there is a window of opportunity for other sites to take traffic from them.

LS2 actually had the opportunity to take some traffic from them, and we actually started doing so until the whole "killing the site" bulls*** from Borla hit the fan. As soon as they stopped doing what I was doing, all that traffic went away, and so did many sponsors.

People still seem to believe I'm crazy when I say that traffic can be taken from LS1TECH for some reason.

You're just not going to take that traffic with Bar-n-Grill as your only real option... only a bonafide car site is going to take it... LS1GTO.COM kicked LS1TECH's ass on the GTO traffic.

You wouldn't know that from the technical forums, or ever growing list of sponsors on LS1GTO.COM. LS1/LS2 Engine Technical is the 2nd most popular forum on their site. It's actually that they stayed there because they had a site to go to where people didn't take a s*** on their cars over and over, and there were people that were actually into the GTO and knew something about it technically. That site was miniscule when LS2 started.. LS2 dwarfed them for ages, now they have 20,000 members and 2.2 million posts.

LS2 could have had that traffic, and I documented in great detail just how many people LS2 lost to that site... but in the end, no one at LS2 other than me even gave a flying f*** about that.

LS2 is a joke in terms of a car site. As not even a fan of the brand, I would hate it if LS2 was my only tech option. The Mustang crowd has their s*** together, look at the 'corral'.

LS2 is a joke like that because no one really cares to do anything. The site had a lot of potential in the early days, but lackadasial attitudes towards the automotive content on the site really killed that.

If you guys only had any idea of how much s*** I started with Elmer over things like that, you would be amazed. Hell, the sheer volume of moderators that rarely posted in the forums they moderated was astounding... it was like 50% of the moderator staff!

I think he really hated that I went into such detail in most of them that he couldn't really argue against the idea... I think he just didn't like that it meant he had to do something other than scan the Haynes manual and collect checks from sponsors.

That could have been turned around if he hadn't dug his heels in and fought tooth and nail every time I recommended focusing our attention anywhere besides big-boards.com and BNG... but he would have nothing to do with making it a real car site.

I love that Elmer killed that forum just to spite me.

I set up the traffic flow the way I did because it got people into the forum and replying to s***. As soon as they separated it and put BnG up front, it started declining. But hey, who needs automotive content on a car board?

And it was working, especially after you destroyed the Ford Troll Crew. I love the BNG, don't get me wrong, but I love bulls***ting about cars a ton too. Turbobuick.com and LS1tech.com are to stiff for me too, so yeah.

It's a shame. The American nut hugging crew has caused me to do more lurking and less posting lately.

Their sponsor list isn't that great. All the powertrain tech from the engine back to the tranny isn't much different and can be found on LS1tech. The only thing I'd go there for if I had a GTO was how to replace that s***ty IRS.

No but in a forum entitled CORNER GARAGE I'd like to talk about a f***ing Mercedes or something without some American nuthug dweeb brining up some stupid f***ing Cadillac or something.

People are replacing their IRS on GTOs?

And what exactly is wrong with the semi-trailing arm setup? Granted it's not the the most sophisticated setup going, but it's tuned very well in the GTO and is quite effective in that application.

There isn't a solid rear option that doesn't involved a lot of custom BS.
