What does Scott bring to the table on LS2? It's not like he's letting insider info slip here and there, no information that we didn't already know for months. So what good is he?
i'd like to know that myself.

I wish more people understood that. Just because the "buzz" on LS2/CZ28/LS1TECH/whateverforumyougoto is hot about the 5th Gen Camaro doesn't mean the entire US is messing in their pants to get one. Hell I'd love to see how many actual forum members even buy one when they come out

true i'd also love to know why broke ass 19 year old enthusiasts who drive 1998 camaros, in zero danger of having the money or credit to buy a new camaro when they are released, think that GM gives or should give a flying f*** about them.

the ones gm does give a flying f*** about, i would think, are guys like me, rob, quadcammer, verbs; young guys who actually can plop down $35k+ the day the camaro comes out.

you can love gm and want to blow every gm exec all you want... but if you don't have the money to purchase NEW gm vehicles, you are completely worthless to them.

I guess I am in GM's target market, I can afford a new Camaro if it came out, or a CTS.

Honestly after the negative view I have of how dealerships rip of customers, I really have no interest in a GM car.

you speaking of salesman? meh. MB and BMW salesmen will try the same bulls***. that's car salesmen everywhere bro.

as far as the service dept... yeah.. gm does blow there. if they came out with something bad ass that i wanted though, i'd probably do it. release a LS7 CTS-V for $60k... i'd be there quicker than Bobanos to a party with free beer and horny fat chicks.

What does Settlemire bring to LS2? The same as he brings to any other enthusiast site - perceived credibility. Is that reality? Nope. Does his participation in any way bring traffic? Nope, but the powers that be would like to think it does. They can tout "we have the Camaro brand manager as an active member" to sponsors.

Hell, I run a site and have active involvement from GM brand management, from GM research and development, etc. Who freaking cares? We don't push that to anyone. We have a section set aside for the research stuff, that's about it.

Settlemire is NOT an active member of ANY online community. His job is marketing the brand, so quick little strikes like the one the other day is all he'll do. No realistic value.

Did they really put a COUNTDOWN to the new Camaro in the CG? Holy hell is it ever tempting to ask if LS2 will even be around when that countdown hits zero!

I don't know if it will. I may have gone a round or two with Evyl, but as you can see, he surely wasn;t the problem over there.

The biggest problem is the "clique" running that site aren't in touch with the core of the site, and they like Teh PoWER!!.

I'm completely serious. I moved to the deuce when everybody else did. I've rarely gone more than a few days without clicking on it at least once. But anymore, every damn thread in the CAR section of the CAR site is the same. :yank: And we've seen the kind of horses*** that happens in the BS forum.

As bad as this sounds, what happens when the old man kicks the bucket, or is unable to use a computer anymore? I have a feeling Dingle will somehow become 10 times worse than he already is.

Oh, and at the new thread Hemi!
