I never cared for chilling my mugs. It kills some of the flavoring.
The bottles I think make it taste better. I've had such better luck with glass bottles then the plastic ones. Get yourself a good bottle cleaner, and try to atleast wash them out after use. It will help keep any resedue yeast from getting dried onto the bottom of the bottle.

I see you're using the Mr. Beer bottles...Is that a Mr. Beer brew?
I just picked one up today and have my first batch fermenting as we speak.
I got a ton of questions I'd like to ask you about Mr. Beer too, if you get the chance.

I'll probably pick up a bottle cleaner in a few weeks. I order 48 12oz bottles that are suppose to come in tomorrow but I wont be getting the beer out of the carboy for probably about another week or so. I'm all out of homebrew for now I wish my second batch would hurry up.
