Default Suggestions?

Well, my dad drinks a glass a wine a day for his health, it drastically improves his overall health when he does...

So, since its become a common practice, and there are no wine and spirits shops where he lives, I wanted to grab a couple different bottle and take em to him next time I go, as a lil surprise....I'm not looking to spend an arm and a leg, but I don't want a $5 gallon either lol...

Suggestions? I wanna let him try a couple and see what he prefers...because theres a store 3 blocks from me lol

What is he drinking mainly? Red or White? Coppola's Blue Label merlot is a decent wine and shouldn't run more than $13-16 a bottle.

A really nice white is Matanzas Creek Chardonnay. This is going to run higher though, probalby $25-30 a bottle.

or just shop around a bit. You can find a lot fo good bottles both red and white for $10 a bottle. Is he willing to try new things, is there any type that he just loves?

He prefers red....but he's not partial to any red in particular I don't believe. He's all for trying to stuff, he has a VERY limited selection back home lol

Will, browse around on Wine.com - Buy Wine, Wine Clubs, Gift Baskets and more and they have the wines ratings, and you can sort them by popularity, cost, ratings, etc, and get a very thorough description of each.

If your local wine shop is knowledgable then they should be able to recommend something for you...go to your mom and pop style wine stores (not some chain store) usually the mom and pop style places are very helpful to talk to.
