First pic is just sanitizing everything.
Second pic is the malt extract sitting in hot water so it will pour easier.
Third pic is the grains in the muslin bag that is waiting on the water to boil.
Fourth pic is the water about to boil.
Fifth pic is the water boiling....I dont remember if I had added the malt extract then or not though.
And that last pic I posted was the beer in the fermenter.
It's still bubbling pretty constant. How long will it do this?

To answer your question, how long it "actively" ferments depends on the recipe. Also, you should be fermenting in the white bucket and using the carboy as your second stage (only to enhance the clarity of the beer). Using the carboy as your fermenter and leaving it out in the light like you are doing it will cause skunkiness in your beer just like a Corona has or any other beer in green or clear bottles

It's not really in the light....I hope I didnt fuxors it up
The kit I bought said the glass carboy was to be used as the primary fermenter and the plastic bucket was the bottling bucket. I guess I'll do it different next time if this is screwed up.

Well, just because you fermented it in the glass carboy doesn't mean it's f***ed up. It's the fact that you left it in the light. It may just be a little skunky is all. If it hasn't been left in the light very long then I wouldn't worry about it. Just put a towel over it or put it in a closet. Also, you can ferment it either way. I only do a single stage brew so I don't even use the carboy. When doing a two stage, the only reason to do it was to increase the clarity of the beer so siphoning it to the carboy would show the results more. It's up to you really. Just keep it out of the light

ah...well there's no light that comes in my room and the only light I usually have on is the lamp by my bed so maybe it will be ok.

The yeast just turns the sugar to alcohol.

Well I didnt get too many pics b/c it's kinda hard to do the work and operate the camera at the same time But here's what I have.
This is the bottling bucket that I transferred the beer to.
My first bottled and capped bottle out of this brew
1 full case of homebrew
And here's how the bottling process works.....simplified
