Unibroue Sixteen (16)
While making my Whole Foods run, noticed they had a few bottles of their Anniversary brew - so of course I had to pick up a few. They were $8.50 for a 750mL bottle versus the other Unibroues at $7/ea.
At 10% this was the "strongest" beer I've had (drinking LFDM and Trois at 9% all the time, so no big whoop), but it was still EXCELLENT. Far from being bitter, it just had a little bite along with great flavors. More foamy then the usual beer for some reasons.
Since I'm not an expert I'll hand it over to a beersnob review of it: Unibroue 16 from Unibroue (Sapporo), a Belgian Strong Ale style beer: An unofficial page for Unibroue 16 from Unibroue (Sapporo) in Chambly, Quebec , Canada
Cliffs: If you can find U16 near you, pick up a few!

Gonna have to go find it based on your recommendation. Hopefully our central market will have it.

It got quite a rating on that site. I'll keep an eye open for it, but I don't get many Uni offerings over here.

I was so pissed yesterday. We were over in our parent's neck of the woods and a new Central Market opened in Southlake recently. Their beer selection was like 1/4 of the selection available at the Plano location. Needless to say, I didn't see ANY unibroue, let alone some 16.

I'm not quite the flavor aficionado as the guys on that site, but this beer is superb. Personally, I thought it was like a stronger version of Maudite, both in flavor and alcohol content.
Thanks for the rec. Cheers!
