Default Start-Up Kit

So I'm brand new to the Home Brew game but a couple of guys in my shop are really into it. I'm thinking about brewing but was wondering what the best/most cost efficient set-ups are out there. Any body willing to share some tips?

It's been awhile since I've looked at the kits, but this seems like it would be a great deal for a starter kit.

Austin Homebrew Supply

Not sure what it would take to get that out to germany though.

I'd try looking for a local shop to you, to see if they have any starter kits, etc.. that's what I did and they were a lot of help with getting me started. If not, Austin Homebrew supply (linked above) has been my go to online store.. they seem to have the best deals/ingredients.

The best thing you could do is get a book and start reading. I have this book:
Amazon.com: How to Brew: Everything You Need To Know To Brew Beer Right The First Time: Books: John J. Palmer

And it's been extremely helpful.

I don't brew beer/wine, but from what i've learned from those that do:

You can't be too anal about sterilizing and keeping stuff clean.

Heartslandhomebrew.com is another good site that sells starter kits and they usually include an ingredients kit with it.
